"Make A Rule" and win sweet R&M swag February 26, 2016 12:56 by David Scott

As gamers, we've all had that moment when you're sitting around the table with your playgroup and you start to play as game designers, tinkering rules to suit how you and your mates want to play the game: "This game is fun, but from now on, let's make rule X mean Y and only use Z when A happens."

For instance: my hotter half and I are currently playing a lot of Splendor, so to keep things relatively interesting, we've instigated a house rule that you can't use the same nobles in consecutive games. Simple and effective.

So yes, house rules are as common to gaming as feathers on chicken (or something).

But is your house rule creative enough, unique enough, fun enough, to win some Rule & Make merch?

Our friends over on the Dice Men Cometh podcast have launched a competition to find a famous (or infamous) house rule...provided it's not for Monopoly! All you need to do is head on over to their Facebook page and submit your house rule for a chance to win.

They've also run the rule (see what we did there...) over all four of our games to this point, so tune in to their next episode to hear their thoughts on the R&M catalogue.

We can't wait to see your ideas...and pick up a few tips for our own future gaming sessions!
